Deep breath. Let it out. Whew.

Okey-dokey. That exam is done, and it turns out I got 30/30 on my final videotape, so I can afford to lose 10 points out of 35 on the final exam, and still get an A. I don't think I'll lose that many, to be honest. Possibly six or seven, since it was all essay and I tend to ramble (as anyone who frequents this journal will certainly know), but I don't think 10. Which means I've probably got an A in there. I would have to get...approximately a 50 or below on my final exam in Development to even get a C in there, so I'm not worried about that, and unless I bombed my final paper (which is a possibility), I should be good for a B+ or an A in School and Society. So yay. If I'm right, that means I can join the honor society in counseling next semester, and look on getting an ACA student membership, too. Mmmm, free academic journal subscriptions.

In other news, I'm sleepy, and it's too damned hot outside. It must be in the seventies, and it's December! *grump* South Carolina is so weird.

Trade ya! But you have to take my last exam and get an A on it. :D

Do the same in the four I have left? :P

Meeeeeeeep. *hugs* I think I'll stay down here and be uncomfortably warm! Good luck with the tests! What are they in?

Linear Optimization, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematical Logic, and Database Management. Wahahahaha. :P

Oooh, can I take those? Except for Database Management, they sound like fun.

:P

Optimization is the one that's gonna fail me - I think I'm going into the final with a 50% or so.

Logic is the one documented specimen of that rarest of creatures, propositio avis mathematica - a math bird course. :P Which isn't to say it's without substance, but it's very carefully not too brain-busting; it's very consciously an introductory course. Most of the material for this one's available online - textbook and assignments.

AI is so incredibly cool. It starts out with some sorta-nifty generic problem-solving-algorithm stuff (specifically how to represent problems as graphs, with each node representing a partial solution), then goes into a rehash of Logic (focusing on a rather handwavy version of resolution refutation proofs), then suddenly becomes absolutely fascinating, when it gets into Bayesian probability networks and neural networks and whatnot.

I took a seriously kick-ass Mathematical Logic course myself. We started pretty much from scratch and assumed certain properties of a deductive system as our desired goal, then built the standard system of mathematical logic up from nothing over the course of the term. Much fun and brain-breaking goodness.

My AI course sucked. It was just an old prof talking about his glory days. We called it "Patrick Henry Winston Appreciation", as taught by Patrick Henry Winston out of the text by Patrick Henry Winston.

That's kinda-sorta what we did in Logic - he introduced the language (mostly propositional for this part) and proof system, then went through and proved it was sound and adequate...

Awwww, that's a shame. The AI I'm taking rocks. I'll probably be typing up my notes; I could send them along when/if I get them done, if you'd be interested.

(Hiya, Pyrephox! XD)
