I want to sleep, I want to sleep, I want to sleep...
*sigh* Maybe if I pound this out, it'll help?
New Ethereal Disadvantage for Mortals in In Nomine
Insomnia
"To sleep, perchance to dream..." But what about when that's the /last/ thing that you want to do? This Disadvantage is found most often as a response to trauma while sleeping...anything from abuse, to an earthquake, to having your brain broken by a Servitor of Nightmares may result in Insomnia. A human suffering from Insomnia must make a Will roll to fall asleep, minus the level of the Disadvantage. The CD of a successful roll is how many hours of sleep they can get before being jerked back awake. A CD of six indicates a complete, restful night's sleep. The CD of a failed roll indicates how many hours must be spent in restless wakefulness before the human can try again. A CD of six on a failure indicates a completely sleepless night.
For every night that a person with this Disadvantage gets less than five hours of sleep, they recieve a -1 penalty on all skill rolls linked to Agility, Precision, or Perception, and +1 bonus to their Will rolls to fall asleep. All bonuses and penalties are cleared away once the person gets a decent night's sleep. Sleeping aids can give anywhere from a +1 (warm milk with honey or the like) to a +4 (prescription sleeping pills) to the Will roll per dose. However, these can have side-effects, at GM's discretion.
