An interesting analysis of Americans' reactions to Bush Jr. can be found here.

Here's what I thought was possibly the most, er, interesting part: The President claims not to follow the polls or even read the newspapers. On issues from tax cuts to Iraq, he refuses to flinch when the numbers and sometimes the facts are against him. When he changes course—creating a Department of Homeland Security after he dismissed the idea or speeding up his timetable for giving Iraq its sovereignty—he is loath to concede there has been any correction at all.

Because God forbid that the /President/, the foremost political figure in the United States of America, read the newspapers. Or admit that he might actually be mistaken on what the facts are. Or that he might actually be wrong about something, just occassionally.

Because we all know that never, ever admitting that you're wrong is the perfect way to lead a country and garner respect from our allies and enemies. It doesn't make you look like an idiot at all. Really.

Bah. In other news, I'm really, really bored. Want something fun to do. Wonder if I can tempt someone into RP this evening? Have to come up with a decent hook, though. Hmmm.
Okay. So, I was told that I'd be better off applying to grad school than getting another Bachelor's. Makes sense. I decide to do that. Of course, checking the dates, I find that I've missed the application deadline for applying for the Spring semester, and instead need to go for the May session. Well, that's not really a problem. It's a click of a button. Good!

Except. When I e-mailed two of my former professors, begging hat in virtual hand, my brain had apparently melted down, and I wrote that I was applying for the Spring semester. And didn't catch it. Either time.

I'm such an idiot. :/

Edit: At least one professor is still willing to write me a recommendation. And she was my favorite one with whom I had the most classes, too. Unfortunately, she's /not/ in my actual major, so that other professor is still rather important. If he even remembers me. :/
