The best sensation in the world is stretching. I /love/ it. Doing it properly, the long, slow extension of the muscles, out until they become weak and fluttery...wonderful. If there was any reason that I loved yoga, it was because I adored the sensation of just stretching. It's like finding God, then finding out that he gives free massages. It's /that/ good. And you can do it for yourself, which is a real bonus. :D
Random Observations and Thoughts
* Mr. King, I adore your work. Nonetheless, thou shalt not have one your characters reading one of your books. Wanking should be done in private, thanks.
* 'Short time', as a reference for a living human, is drawn from 'Insomnia', which is fairly easily tied to the rest of the metaplot. I'm not sure if he just recycled the phrase, or if he intends to go further with this, and eventually draw Kingdom Hospital into the whole thing.
* Characters I continue to enjoy the acting of: Hook, Stegman, James, the female doctor who's Hook's partner in crime, and the female doctor who's Stegman's minion. The woman who played Mrs. Klingerman was excellent, too. I'm still not all that impressed by Druse, or the geeky intern, I'm afraid.
* We now know what that funky thumb-in-mouth motion that Hook is always making is. Sorta. It's apparently the sign of the 'Keepers of the Kingdom', a kind of fraternal organization among staff? Something like that. Apparently, they can occassionally make little problems like malpractice lawsuits 'go away'. But if Hook's a member, I don't see Klingman getting in there anytime soon.
* Speaking of malpractice...not only is Stegman an incompetant physician, but he's absolutely /terrible/ at damage control. When the grieving mother is mentioning how her daughter used to be an 'A' student, you do not mention that one day, she may recover to the point of being able to do...housekeeping. At least the repetative motions of setting a table. This is not a way to defuse the situation.
* Please, for the love of god, do not call yourself 'momma' when talking to your lover in a high pitched, babyish tone. My sanity thanks you.
* Our all singing, all dancing friend. I have the feeling that Antubis and Mary wanted him to die, which is why so many obstacles were put in the ambulance's path. But, in this case, I think Paul won. Antubis expended his strength on the miracle, and on getting rid of the first plant, and Mary is busy with Druse and Hook. And she doesn't seem to have much power, on her own.
* Where the hell is the maintainance man?
Overall Rating: B- (It would have been higher, but the singing and dancing thing was just silly.)
