Right. So I finally got together with a couple of friends from college, after a fairly long time. Not helped by the fact that they spent two and a half hours being /lost/. And it's not that hard to get to my house. Bless their souls. But eventually I went and met them in the parking lot they were stranded in, and we went out for dinner, and then back to my house for moooooooovies. Two movies: The Others and Moulin Rouge, neither of which I'd ever seen.
The Others was just lovely. I adored it. It's been so long since I've watched a new horror movie, and with people who really appreciate a good freakout, that the experience was sublime. When it ended, we were buzzed, and it was a bit after midnight, so we decided to launch into the second movie.
Mmmmm. Moulin Rouge is absolutely wonderful. It was so good I almost didn't notice my friends cuddling on the couch during the romantic parts. I am, not so secretly, a hopeless romantic. Toss me a good, romantic story, and I'll watch, entranced, through the end. And this was just lovely. And happy eighties music. And beautiful costuming. And...and...wow. Wow. Loved it. Want to watch it again.
