The Good:

First, one of my co-workers is a big science-fiction/fantasy fan. Second, she's one of the volunteer directors at DragonCon. Third, depending on how things go, she may be able to offer me a free hotel room, and I could work for her during the con and thus get in free. Fourth, talking over lunch about Laurell K. Hamilton and a few other authors in similar genres kickstarted my inspiration. For the first time in /months/, I have written. For the first time in over a year, I have written original fiction, or at least started, and have some plans on where to go next, and I like it.

The Bad:

The office will /not/ be shut down during Spring Break, so I have to decide if I'm going to work all through it, or take days out of my vacation time. I'm thinking I might take a couple of days off towards the end of the week to do something for myself. What that is, I don't know yet. I'll have to watch the weather. If it's nice, I might go down to the beach. Heh. Maybe I'll take my PS2 and hook it up to the hotel TV, and thus achieve the ultimate in geekery.

The Ugly:

I attempted to expand my gastronomical horizons today. I orders a sandwich which was smoked salmon, cream cheese, and little green things that looked kinda like boogers. Capers? I think that was it. It was, in a word, hideous. One of the most hideous things I've ever tasted. Very ugly.
