Yay, it's Friday. I'm so happy. Actually, I had a rather good evening last night, although my sleep was shallow and oft interrupted by rather adult-rated dreams. I suppose it's the changing of the seasons. I'm bringing my RL In Nomine game to a climax tonight, or at least to the first part of the climax, wherein our unlucky heros attempt to save their Malakite companion and stop Magog from being released upon the world, all while the Bright Vale and Dark Vale prepare for going at each other's throats, and a tide of Magogites waits to be unleashed upon the Marches. Should be fun!

I'm considering trying to write something that doesn't make TheFool want to hide under his desk. It's weird...most of my characters are bright, idealistic sorts who are friendly, cheerful, and sociable, even if they're evil. So why does my fic always end up turning dark and scary and weird? I dunno. One of those things.

Also, I am so goofing off right now.

OH! GROW cube. Play it. Then play GROW, and GROW RPG. GROW RPG is the simplest of the two, but GROW cube is just so damned adorable.

EDITED to add a quote: "At least 31 states are taking steps to teach alternatives to evolution. A CBS poll last November found 65 percent of Americans favor teaching creationism as well as evolution while 37 percent want creationism taught instead of evolution."

If I ever have a child, I can't help but contemplate home-schooling, just to ensure that they're actually exposed to real /science/, and scientific methods of inquiry, instead of the politically-driven fallacies of fear that school boards across the country appear to be embracing.

Intelligent Design is not a scientific theory. There's no evidence, there are no studies supporting it, and the whole idea is untestable in the first place. And that's if you ignore the fact that every 'fact' the creationists try to bring up to demostrate ways in which the world is 'too complex' not to have been designed is already contradicted in several points throughout the literature, or based upon a laughable misunderstanding of basic scientific principles.

Also, 'Darwin' isn't responsible for anything. Evolution is not 'Darwinism' any more than physics is 'Einsteinism'. Evolutionary theories are the underpinnings most of modern science, everything from biology, organic chemistry, geology, archeology, psychology, and zoology is informed and supported by some aspect of evolutionary theory. "God did it" is /not/ a substitute, damn it.

I swear, it drives me buggy.
