Irritations and Aggravations

It's never a good thing when you walk into the office, food in hand, and your Director's face just lights up. At least, not when the first words out of her mouth are, "Amber! We've...got a problem." Yup. DOOOM. Worse, it's a problem that I can't fix. So I put in a work order. They'll probably get to it...Monday, or so.

Much better now.

My day got SO MUCH BETTER once I got off of work. Largely because I ran into my advisor, and I adore her so much. She is just about the coolest person who ever existed.

Picture: A small white woman, probably in her late forties, (maybe older?), with short, straight brown hair, and a perpetually cheerful, inclusive air. It's not like the annoying kind of cheerful, it's just this...aura of joy that kind of infects everywhere she goes. She's funny and animated, and has a tendency to swear during classes...and hearing this sweet, innocent-looking woman pop off with a dirty word is just worth it in itself. She's also endlessly enthusiastic, knowledgeable, a good lecturer, and passionate about our work.

She just rocks. We also spent a while squeeing over the fact that Serenity comes out today (apparently she's a big fan of the show!) talked about movies for a bit, even discussed Constantine (which we both liked), and just chatted. It brightened my day wonderfully.

Also, I saved an earthworm.
