Doing the map program thing today, again. Now, and for the next week, until I have it perfect for the presentation next Thursday. I'm actually not stressing a /whole/ bunch about it. I think the entire idea is kind of dumb, since ArcGIS is not really a 'presentation' software. You typically take the output from it, and them make presenations from that. There's not really anything flashy or polished about seeing the maps made 'live'. But I am ordered, and thus I go.
This is musing/inspiration and rambling about a setting as well as mechanics for getting across a dark fantasy feel. It's not Ravenloft...I'm not so much going for gothic, as for a theme of the good being corrupted. I'm also not going for CoC...it's not an battle doomed to be lost, but it's also very /hard/ to stay pure, and very easy and rewarding to start to slip towards the darkness. Which, of course, is why the darkness stays.
