Spare me Mondays.
Bored. We're nearly all caught up on our projects for the next month. Which is good for us, particularly since we have a number of people taking vacation at some point in the next three weeks. However, it's bad for me at this particular moment, for I am trying to make what little work I do have last as long as possible so that I have something to do other than stare at my computer screen.
Also, in honor of having cleaned my apartment, I have started a new initiative. A couple, actually. One, eating in. Usually I get lunches out, and that's about six to eight dollars a day that I don't need to be spending. Heck, I've even gotten tired of most of the food around here in the first place. So, from now on, I'm eating lunch before I leave for work, and eating dinner at home rather than grabbing something on the way. Two, I've got some Arizona Tea bottles that I've cleaned out, and I'm using them to make homemade chilled chai to take with me to work. The first batch, sadly, I forgot to use any kind of sweetening. This leaves me with bitter, bitter chai and milk. But oddly enough, it's not /bad/, it's just not exactly what I'm used to. Still, I'm going to add sugar or honey to the next batch...which will likely be tonight, since I've now got two empty bottles, and that's about how much one medium sized pot fills. Finally, doing the dishes after meals. I'm going to try and keep things from piling up in the sink. After I eat, I do the dishes.
...of course, this will last for about two days, I fear. That's my current record with this very sensible line of action so far. But if I can force myself to do it for about 30 days in a row, that's about how long a new behavior needs to be maintained before it becomes habitual. And once it's habitual, it's all good!
But anyway. Cook. Do dishes immediately. Keep the house somewhat clean, which means throwing away stuff that I know damn well has no use to me for keeping. Feel better about myself.
