Had VERY bizarre dreams.

First, a locked-shuttle mystery. A shuttle lands back on earth with all of its people dead and chopped into little tiny bits. The 'story' would alternate from flashbacks inside the shuttle before everything went Wrong, to the actions of the investigators outside the shuttle. Turns out that one of the characters went mad, and tried to prove that he could create this odd crystal matrix thing to hold everyone in stasis, only he screwed it up at the last minute, and it shattered, shattering everyone on board...and yeah, I got that in full-color grossness.

ALSO, the shuttle people were the only ones who could warn of an impending invasion by these evil corporate alien types (somewhat like the Battlefield Earth aliens, but smarter), so the earth was invaded, and renamed Land>>>FILL. The story then cut to two unregistered citizens who try a minor act of defiance, and are mildly tortured (whipped on the back), and overhauled for reeducation with the personal attention of the local lord. One of them discovers that there's an illusion door in the back of their 'guest quarters', that leads to underground tunnels filled with Essence, a substance which allows you to interact with the world on a spiritual level and change it. Cut to the young genius from the shuttle, who it turns out is not dead after all, and it gathering rebellions among the younger members of society, using those tunnels to keep everyone undetected.

The two prisoners (an older woman and a me-analogue) are brought back to the commander's chambers. There's something /about/ the chambers that is fading now...somehow, they could identify people who were primally hooked into the Essence flow, and those people's attitude would change the way the world worked. So first he tried to recruit Beverly (the older woman) whose Essence the chamber had identified, and when she refused, moved in with the torture again, this time with a female member of the species. But the me-analogue was filled with Essence, grabbed the woman, twisted her until I made it quite certain that I could break her in half, easily, and then set her back on her feet.

She was, of course, ragingly furious, and was about to have my character taken to the Ruby Throne, which essentially 'plugged up' all essential hygenic features. I flipped out, used Essence to knock everyone over, then grabbed Beverly, and a fair number of high-level passes, and we ran. Beverly didn't want to travel with me anymore, so she took one direction, and I another, and I hid out in an Irish restaurant, until I realized that they had ordered everyone with eyewear to be killed, and all unregistered citizens rounded up for reeducation. Some fighting of elite guards ensued, I took one of their uniforms and weapons, returned to the Essence hidey-hole to get more juice, and then started heading for the Commander's quarters. For some reason, I had the vague thought that I had seen something in him worth cultivating, so I was going to kidnap him and see what happened.

About this time, I woke up.
The writer of 8-bit has it right: I am not a religious woman. But if Optimus Prime were to appear to me and say, "Amber, I need you to kill a man." ...well, that man is going down.
