Had "benefits orientation" this morning, the time wherein they attempt to make all this crazy stuff make sense, so that you can choose retirement and health insurance plans which don't screw you over. I also got to find out exactly how much I'll /actually/ be making. I am very much not displeased. Assuming that my preliminary budgeting isn't way, way off the mark, then I should have plenty to get through each month, budgeted emergency money, and an amount on top of that to go straight to savings and, eventually, investments.
Also looked at one of the available apartments at a complex. It's not bad, but I saw another complex on my way there, managed by the same company, that looks much nicer /and/ has a pool. Me want pool. The rent for a 2 bedroom is comparable according to their website, so I'm going to call the manager back up (she /has/ to be getting tired of me by now), and see if there are any vacancies, or likely to be any in the next week or two. If not, I'll probably end up going for the other one, since it's not /bad/.
EDIT: Looks like there /will/ be one available in the next week or so, and there's one apartment that hasn't been moved into yet that I can see. Of course, that means I have to drive all the way there and back again tomorrow, but oh well. Needs will as needs must.
