After two days, I have definitely evolved aggressively predatory bots. Technically, they're omnivores, because they'll eat veggiebots, too, but they /seem/ to show a preference for moving prey. Pretty fast and efficient, too.

Which is interesting, because their DNA looks like /total/ junk.

ETA: My bots, let me show you them!

I seem to have three different broad types of bots, two of which have evolved in the course of the simulation.

Veggiebots: These were implanted. They sit there and exist to be eaten. They have no DNA to speak of, are autotrophic, and get replenished by the program when supplies get low.

Herbibots: These evolved. They only show interest in eating veggiebots. When not eating, they set up a defensive posture, which is to spin around in one place, firing at a steady, but not excessive, rate. They will move and track veggiebots, but ignore all other bots. EDIT: Interesting recent mutation; a subspecies of Herbi seems to have developed, characterized by a lack of defensive shooting, and a very fast reproduction rate. The Hunters, predictably, love them.

Hunterbots: These evolved (both the Hunters and the Herbies evolved from one progenitor species). They show interest in eating other bots, and will actively track and destroy Herbibots. They do not sit-n-spin, but are usually moving forward, firing in a straight line. They will eat Veggies, but seem to prefer moving prey, and will zoom right past a veggie to pounce upon and consume a Herbi. They don't /seem/ to chase other Hunterbots with the same zeal, but there also seem to be fewer Hunters, and they are easily distracted by closer prey.
