I bought myself a birthday present: A cobalt blue Nintendo DS! And four games: Final Fantasy III, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, Harvest Moon ("cute", with the female main), and Pokemon Diamond. It is teh cool.

Impressions:

FFIII is spoiling me as far as interface is concerned. They really rehauled it amazingly well for the DS, using the stylus (Oh, how I LOVE the stylus) to its greatest effect. And, as I've mentioned, it's spoiling me because aside from Phoenix Wright, none of the others use the stylus as well or intuitively.

Phoenix Wright is definitely fun, although it obviously made me grrrr right off in the second episode. Yes, I know that it's a very standard trope and part of the zero-to-hero journey, but man. I was not happy. (Being vague to avoid spoilers).

Harvest Moon is pretty fun. Although it was very interesting to note that when they changed the main character to a girl, it also seemed to change the theme. From 'The Harvest Sprites are lost, and only you can save them!' to 'You horrible, lazy girl, you got the Harvest Sprites banished, now you have to mend your ways to get them back'. Also, the bachelors are nowhere near as cute as the bachelorettes. In fact, a lot of them are kinda creepy looking. (And don't get me started on calling the girl-version Harvest Moon DS Cute.) Still, it is a Harvest Moon game, and thus, it is farming fun.

Pokemon Diamond, I haven't played much yet. It does not seem to use the stylus to great effect so far, although I do like that you can choose male or female, and a big deal isn't made out of it.
