[01] Do you have the guts to answer these questions and re-post as The Controversial Survey?

Clearly, although it's not really a matter of guts.

[02] Would you do meth if it was legalized?

Heck, no. That stuff does nasty crap to you, and I've never really been one for altered states of consciousness.

[03] Abortion: for or against it?

For it.

[04] Do you think the world would fail with a female president?

There's a whole lot of arrogance, just in that question. No, I don't think the world, or more appropriately, the country, would fail with a female president. Or a black president. Or a gay president. Or an atheist president. Seriously, those things are not related to presidential competence.

[05] Do you believe in the death penalty?

No. In theory, I agree that there are people who the world is better off without. However, I do not think that our justice system is infallible enough to decide that our death row inmates really /are/ those people.

[06] Do you wish marijuana would be legalized already?

Yes. There's no real reason for it not to be.

[07] Are you for or against premarital sex?

Mmmmm, sex. God, yes. Especially if it regards me, personally.

[08] Do you believe in God?

No.

[09] Do you think same sex marriage should be legalized?

Yes.

[10] Do you think it's wrong that so many Hispanics are illegally moving to the USA?

Er, no. I really don't have any problem with it, although I do have a problem with the fact that their illegal status makes them open to abuse from American employers, and increasingly, American immigration officers who trade looking the other way for money or forced sex.

[11] A twelve year old girl has a baby, should she keep it?

No. I really and truly don't think a twelve year old is capable of deciding to be a parent, and should not have that sort of responsibility pushed on her, regardless of the circumstances of her pregnancy.

[12] Should the alcohol age be lowered to eighteen?

I'd put it even lower than that. Excessive drinking and doing stupid things because of it should remain a crime, but it shouldn't be any /more/ of a crime when you're seventeen than when you're twenty five.

[13] Should the war in Iraq be called off?

Yes, absolutely. God only knows how you do that without accepting that there's going to be a bloody, nasty upheaval when we leave, and that this is largely our fault. But I suspect we're just putting off what we've made into the inevitable.

[14] Assisted suicide is illegal: do you agree?

I don't think it should be, but I also think that /no one/ but the patient decides when enough is enough. No proxies, no powers of attorney, nothing but the patient's lucid agreement.

[15] Do you believe in spanking your children?

No. Physical punishment has very little efficacy in changing behavior on a long-term basis, and is usually just a way for the punisher to express frustration with the punished.

[16] Would you burn an American flag for a million dollars?

Sure. After all, burning is the proper way to dispose of a soiled American flag. The idea behind burning a flag in protest is not to slam America, but to say that the actions one is protesting have soiled the reputation of the country in such a way that the flag itself can be considered soiled, and must be disposed of, just as if it were dropped on the ground or splattered with filth. Clothing that cuts apart pieces of the flag for display, or people who allow the American flag to fly until it's tattered to shreds are fall more disrespectful of the flag's proper treatment than flag burners.

[17] Who do you think would make a better president? McCain or Obama?

Obama.

[18] Are you afraid others will judge you from reading some of your answers?

Not really. None of this is a secret for anyone who's spoken to me more than, oh, once. :D
