Hakushuku to Yousei, or 'Earl and Fairy'. An entertaining shoujo romance series set in a version of 19th century Britain where Fairies can only be seen by a few remaining people. One of the English nobility, once upon a time, was granted a domain in both the Fairy Nation and England, becoming the Blue Knight Earl. Eventually, the family line died out and the claim became dormant...until a new successor shows up on the scene. But he needs to find a magic sword in order to prove his claim, and hires a 'fairy doctor' in the person of Lydia Carlton to decipher the riddles behind the sword's whereabouts.
...and, of course, wackiness ensues.
The male lead qualifies for Magnificent Bastard (the gentler version) status through sheer audacity. The female lead is intelligent and engaging, although very much cast in the Regency Heroine light (fantasy version). The series itself is neither deep nor unique, but it is entertainingly done...if you're a fan of Regencies, or Mercedes Lackey, you'll probably like it a lot.
ETA: It makes no real pretense at accurately reflecting the attitudes of the time, particularly in regards to women, so the heroine gets to traipse around with all sorts of unmarried men without harm to her reputation, even in the best circles of Society. But, hey, it's amusing. :D
