Technically, Dave Sim is a schizophrenic.

I managed to make it through 12 pages of the pdf before my mind revolted and forced my eyes to close in self defence. What a mess of an "essay." I'm embarassed to see that the guy is Canadian, and unsurprised to see that he is divorced.

You only just found out about that piece? Wow.

Dave Sim is ... well, hell, he's a nutjob if you just read his writings. And granted, I haven't spoken to the man since his, uh, conversion? to whatever faith he dreamed up. Once apon a time he was a rather personable, if somewhat cantankerous fellow. I met him at a retailer's convention in Atlanta and he hosted a party in his suite along with Coleen Dorran

Dave Sim is ... well, hell, he's a nutjob if you just read his writings. And granted, I haven't spoken to the man since his, uh, conversion? to whatever faith he dreamed up. Once apon a time he was a rather personable, if somewhat cantankerous fellow. I met him at a retailer's convention in Atlanta and he hosted a party in his suite along with Coleen Dorran <sp?> and came across as a really nifty guy. The odd thing is...I don't think it was the divorce. I met him post-divorce and he wasn't this apparently ... whatever he is that's wrong with him. Regardless, he's gone around the bend.

He's also extremely talented, and certainly a pioneer in comics. One hopes that his wacko views won't keep his work from the recognition it deserves (so far it hasn't.).

I see him as sort of a male compliment to Andrea Dworkin, though at least Dave hasn't filed any false police reports about crimes that occured entirely in his head. To my knowledge.

Despite Dave's apparent ludite inclinations, he has a blog. Dave's Blog . Have a look.
