Or the Internet succeeds at meta.

Okay.

There's this 'TV show' that isn't, called Shadow Unit, which is currently in too long of a hiatus. It has a fandom. The fandom has a web board, and LJs, because who doesn't have LJs?

The fictional characters of the 'show' /also/ have LJs, and interact with fans in a complicated dance of fourth wall restructuring. The fans, of course, discuss their real interactions with the fictional people on the web board.

Now, fictional characters from a game called Port Outreach have signed up to the web board. These fictional characters interact with the real people, discussing their real interactions with the fictional people of the 'show'...which is, in the fictional universe, possibly a real TV show (but with AU canon).

...so, yeah. My brain, she is broken.

See, see. The internet provides too many opportunities for tricksy, tricksy authors to break people's brains! And then, those people become corrupted by the brainbreaking, and set out to make it worse. And then all is anarchy! Rains of coyotes! Messages from the astral plane! Madness, I say!
