1. What one event would make you happiest if it happened right now?

Right now? Someone delivering an all-expenses paid trip up the coast to see all the friends I haven't yet met (or haven't seen in a while), would be pretty damned cool.

2. Is there one thing, more than anything else, that evokes memories of your childhood? What is it?

A book. "Little Fuzzy", by Piper. When I was a child, I had a beautifully illustrated children's version, and I think that losing that was the one thing I regret the most about my childhood. So I got the paperback, and whenever I see it, I remember that book, and get all wistful again.

3. What are your top five favorite songs?

In no particular order: Mad Tom of Bedlam (Traditional), American Pie (Don McLean), The Last Unicorn (America), The Battle of Evermore (Led Zeppelin), and Silent Running (Human League, I think).

4. Assuming equal access to any existing mode of transportation you wanted, and unlimited time to get to your destination, how would you prefer to travel long-distance?

Train, probably. If time and money aren't an issue, then it seems like the most comfortable and scenic way to get places. And its romantic, and I'm a sucker for romantic things.

5. Is there a difference between the authors of your favorite books and your favorite authors?

Sometimes. For the most part, though, there's not. If Terry Pratchett wrote a phonebook, I'd pay money for it and read it. Generally, if I like one book of an author, I'll like most of the others. Andre Norton might be an exception. I /loved/ 'The Mark of the Cat', but none of her other books have really made that much of an impression on me. They're not bad, but they don't make me bounce, either.
