I had to grocery shopping today. I shop for myself, now, because no one in the family eats what I eat, since I went on the diet. Recalling a discussion about Wal-Mart the other day, I decided that I wouldn't shop there this time, even if it was cheaper. Instead, I went to Publix, which is the 'gourmet' shopping chain right across the street.

Best. Decision. Ever.

It turned out to not be that much more expensive, and I got enough food for two weeks. I also picked up a pre-prepared filet of salmon, wrapped around chopped crabmeat stuffing. Salmon I can have...I'm not /too/ sure about the crab, but a little bit can't hurt. And with the olive oil seasonings I got, I prepared dinner: salmon wrapped in crabmeat, a salad, and five-grain italian bread, dipped in seasoned olive oil. It is yummy beyond belief.

Yum.

As I currently work for those bastards (Publix), yeah, they do have a pretty nice selection and yes, the product is in general cheaper than one would expect from them. Interestingly enough, that's what they keep blabbing about, that just because the service and food in Publix is better (for subjective qualities of better), that they really aren't that expensive.

They have meetings about how to combat this.

I don't know exactly why I felt the need to blab about that here, since I don't get paid extra even if you do go to a Publix, but still, it's nice to get that out of my head.

Yay five-grain italian bread!
