I get accused of being 'Politically Correct' quite a bit, and I suppose that I am. But really, there's a limit. Especially when the target of outrage is a two-bit tongue-and-cheek card game that maybe one gamer out of a thousand will want to buy. Most of those who actually buy it will play it once or twice, snicker, get bored, and put it up. No one who would be offended by the content is going to be buying it, anyway, so I persistantly fail to see what the point is.

No actual women were harmed in the making of this game.

No actual women will be forced to buy, play, or own this game.

No persons with an IQ above 70 will look at this game and think that's the way you want to live your life, unless they're already inclined in that direction and just want an excuse.

The game isn't even /worth/ offense. Ridicule, sure. It's a ridiculous concept, and obviously the designers /knew/ that. You won't hurt their feelings by pointing out how stupid it is. They know it's stupid. We know it's stupid.

Point, laugh, move on.

Yeah. It's tasteless, sure. But it would die in the obscurity it deserves a lot easier if people weren't making such a ever-loving fuss over it.

I think it's tasteless too but... eh. I heard about it first on [livejournal.com profile] feminist_rage and was more annoyed by Conrad's attitude, but he's always been a dirtbag. The game itself I would never have heard about, and I AM a WW geek.

I believe he's public relationships and the one that fields complaints. I have never, ONCE not heard him not say anything that wasn't spiteful in some way. His stock remark to the feminists was "why don't you do something worthwhile rather than bitch about a game?"

While I kind of agree... that is really not a good thing for PR.

Ick, no. A good PR person should smile and nod regardless of what they personally think. Silly, silly man.

Exactly. I've heard a lot of complaints about him over the years though.
