With my new haul, I'm starting to seriously think about an online CoC game, set in Victorian London. I am helped in this endeavor by the truly magnificent array of stuff you can find on the Internet. Including maps of Victorian London! Yay maps! I've narrowed it down to what neighborhood I think I'll be setting it in. Around the intersection of Shoreditch Rd. and Bethel Green Rd. According to the poverty map I've found, there were well-to-do middle class areas surrounding a hive of scum and villany (okay, 'lowest class, vicious, criminal') which should be interesting to play in. The relevant map is here if you're interested. I will set the game a little farther ahead than this particular map,

And yes, I am looking for players. I believe one slot is already taken, if the person still wants it, but other than that, I'll need...one to two more players.

Keep in mind, this will be Call of Cthulhu. The question is not if your character will be hurt, but how badly. Not if your character will die, but when. Also, we'll be playing Chaosium CoC, /not/ D20. It's fairly easy to explain and an easy system to learn and play, but it'd be a good idea, if you're interested, to download Byakhee as it's a kickass character generator and sheet tracker. And it has Victorian-era character sheets with the appropriate skills, etc.

As to what the campaign will specifically be...that'll depend in part on the characters. I will say that it'll be mystery/horror in genre, as befits the game, and probably there will be one adventure, and then we'll decide if we want to go on from there.

Each player will be asked to make two characters at chargen: their first PC, and then the backup for when the first one is incapacitated.

Victorian England resource here.

EDIT: Three players have spoken up, and that's enough for the moment. Yay!

Mmmm. Tasty, Tasty CoC.

You know I'm in. Oh, the In-ness. If I could attempt to be any more in, there'd be laws violated.

Yay! I thought you were, but wanted to make sure. :)

... oooooh. Consider me intrigued, with a side of 'I'm not quite sure I have time'. When were you thinking of holding sessions?

When we can. That's one of the reasons I'm holding it to 2 or 3 PCs, so that the chances of coordinating our schedules go up. :)

Hee. Okay.

Yes. I'd love to play. Never played CoC but I keep wanting to, and Victorian era is a lovely bonus.

I've love to play, if scheduling and the like allows, and you don't mind me poinging about. Only played CoC once, but had great fun. (You know, in the slowly descending into madness sense of fun.) Where were you planning on running the game? Some Mu, IRC, LJ posts...?

It'd probably be Saminga, since all of us (and if you want to play, that'll make 3 PCs, which is enough) have access, and Saminga has dice rolling capabilities beyond the 3d6. A journal game wouldn't really get across the feel of a good CoC game, and I don't care for IRC. :P

Beautiful! That would have been my first choice for a location anyway.

Out of curiosity, will lurkers be okay, and/or will there be logs? [grins] I've never played CoC in either form, so even if there was a PC slot left over I'm not sure if I'd want to ask for it, but I'd like to see what happens, if the GM/players don't mind... ^_^
