Yeah, I've been caught. Yeah, I like it a lot.

One of the things I /really/ like is Zoe and Wash. It's so nice to see a sane, loving, committed couple with low angst on a show like that. They fight, they have moments of weakness and sniping, but there's also that casual loving attitude and comfortable playfulness that you just don't usually see on TV, since it's usually tossed over for the sexual tension of denial and mind-blowing angst.

I like angst. I like sexual tension. But sometimes, it's nice to just see a couple that's happy about being a couple.

I've heard from a few places that Joss had to continually fight with Fox execs who wanted the relationship to be all New and Fiery and Sexual Tension and yadda yadda teenagerness. I'm glad he managed to hold out on that one; it's marvelous to see how they interact.

Augh. They're /not/ teenagers. They're in their thirties. It's good where they are. The relationship is a wonderful one, and more believable than a lot of the formulaic teenage angst ones. Even, dare I say it, better than many of the ones on Buffy.

I'm glad he was able to keep it.
