Okay, since I was actually going to do /window/ shopping, I lose. But I win at buying! Since I got off work early today, I decided to finally go out and do some looking for potential career and interview wear. I went to one of the local malls, for Wal-Mart does not cut it in the nice clothes area. Tried Sears, first...that was a terrible disappointment. For one, 90% of their women's sections are Misses and Petites. The Women's section was shoved back in a corner, and had ugly, casual clothes. Exactly what I was not looking for. No suits, no nice blouses, nothing.

So, it was on to Belk's. In a joyful confluence of events, the story was having a 1-Day sale, that was 50% off everything in the store, and some items were discounted even lower. I looked around, and found...The Suit. It's rose-colored silk, one hundred percent silk, in my size, and actually looks good on me. Normal price: 300 smackeroos.

I got it for 150, with tax. At Coldwater Creek, I got a lovely, cream-colored silk/cotton blend top to go with it. The top is sleeveless, so with the suit jacket off, it looks a bit more casual, and the jacket can stay on for interviews, etc. So, yay, I have an interview suit.

I love silk. If I had the money, every thing I wore would be silk. I would have silk-lined jeans. I just adore the stuff. I don't have half as much as I wish I did...it's rare that I can find a contemporary shirt design that I really like, especially in silk.

silk-lined jeans
I think that would be some sort of clothing nirvana there.
Cotton and silk are my two favorite fabrics.

Yea but high knitter Grall seems to prefer the wool I pull out of Shadowfang Keep.
