...or, rather, of having someone else cook for you. Went out and had an absolutely lovely evening of quality time with my father. Said evening included a steak dinner, and (amazingly enough) did not include the argument that is our standard operating procedure when spending more than an hour alone together. So it was a /very/ good evening. And I got to wear a lovely silk shirt that I hadn't worn in quite a while, and happily discovered that it still fits. Yay me!
It has tassels, and is therefore deeply nifty.
In other news, progress is being obtained for The Project, and I'm feeling pretty good about our chances there (for those who wonder, I'll be around most of the week...just don't try to catch me Friday evening. Saturday I'll be around, but probably distracted and slow in the evening), so I'm happy about that.
Have also had thoughts about going back and reattempting my anime-style, original system RPG. I think there's a solid concept and idea in there, I just have to prune out all the rambling I'm prone to. And rework the magic system, although I still want to focus it around the five Chinese elements (with suitable fictionalization). I'm thinking of making it ritualized, though...rather than an inherent ability or aptitude, simply make each magical effect tied to a ritual which can be learned (or bought with CP) by anyone. Minor magical rituals may be widely known and easily performed, but they get progressively more complicated and dangerous as they become more powerful.
On the other hand, I really /liked/ the Confuscian-virtues based magical progression as far as RP and flavor goes. But it may be just too damn intricate to be good, mechanics-wise. Hmm.
