Okay. A couple of notes...
I think that we will be using D&D 3.5 for this, with some alterations to help cope with the WoWness. Sixth level characters, with +2 Feats. Talents will be feats, but instead of having levels, you'll either get the full benefit, or an equivalent benefit (for things that don't translate well to tabletop, or will require too much blasted math).
Professions (and special Rogue skills like Poison, Stealth, Lockpicking) will be skills. Skill points will be adjusted to something a little larger for most classes. Professions themselves will be more freeform (instead of specific recipes, we'll work out DCs for various effects that you want to do). And yes, you still can only have two, although the 'gathering' professions will be included in their allied crafting profession. (Alchemists have herbalism, Leatherworkers have skinning, Gemcrafters/Engineers/Blacksmiths have mining.)
The world will be expanded. The Ghostlands is much larger than it is in-game, and would take about a week and a half on foot to cross from one end to the other. Silvermoon City is nearly a month away on foot, and three or four nights away by bat. Tranquillen (the only friendly town) has a population of about 30-40 somewhat stable NPCs (and the buildings for them), and usually almost that number of temporarily assigned characters, not including those who are trying to reclaim some of the lost villages and estates from the Scourge invasion.
Yes, you will have Hearthstones, but they can only be used once a day. I'm not sure, yet, what to do with mana, combo points, etc.
