From the National Review.
A short quote for those who'd rather not sully their browsers with the site:
The author posits the idea that an African-American president would cause the white Democrats to flee the party in droves, while all African-Americans voted in lock step. And then goes on to say:
By that point the Democratic Party might be nothing other than the party of black Americans. To the degree that black and nonblack Americans get on with each other at all, it is largely thanks to the coalition of black citizens and nonblack liberals and interest groups represented in the national political life by the Democratic Party. A permanent sundering of that coalition would be greatly to America's peril. Black Americans would be shut out of our political life.
To which I say...man what? The entire tone of the article is snide and condescending, as if African-American citizens are mere hangers on in the political discourse, and as if white liberals are merely condescending to associate with them so long as they're useful. To which I can only reply: Bite. Me.
Also, get some damned friends who come from even slightly different backgrounds from you, because your ignorance is showing.
EDIT: As a side note, while I was reading an e-mail on G-mail, I looked up at the 'related topics' that Google sticks up at the top, there. It read, "First Black President - Barack Obama Antichrist" and then some other random stuff picked up from words in the e-mail.
