It's still raining. A steady, soothing downpour soaked us all through the night, which made sleeping pretty delightful. But getting up? Nowhere NEAR as easy. It was dark, and the rain pattered steadily on the ground. I've always slept wonderfully in rain.

It also provided a pretty amusing 'surround sound' effect for playing Persona 4 last night; Inaba has a lot of rainfall. And I had a cooking Success! last night for dinner. I had a chicken leg quarter, so I baked it in the oven. In a pocket of foil, I put the chicken, white wine, garlic salt, onions, sea salt, and rosemary. Then I wrapped it up, and cooked it at 325 for about an hour (while a boss kicked my butt), before unwrapping the top and turning it up to 400 to brown on top. It was /amazing/. Juicy, flavorful, tender. Two thumbs up and all of that.

...the entirely non-scientific observational study of self-selected candy preferences in a scholastic environment.

Otherwise known as, my candy dish.

I bought a huge bag of Halloween candy with a wide variety of treats, from suckers to Smarties to gum to various hard candies. I've been filling up my candy dish with this bag since October, and watching what people choose.

Most popular candy: suckers. I guess it's something about having the handle; maybe it provides a feeling of security? Or--despite the stick being nonedible--the larger size makes it seem a better value? At any rate, the suckers were usually gone within ten minute of any given refreshing of supplies.

Least popular candy: generic grape-flavored hard candy. Actually, make that all grape-flavored candy. Those things appear to be a hard sell. Despite only originally making up about 20 percent of the mix, they've slowly grown to about 40 percent, as other candies are chosen over them. The generic barrel candies suffer the most: there's a little pool of them, where people have shoved them aside in search of the more popular candies.

Statistically invalid: the orange, filled candies. Because I ate those. :D
