Yay, new person!

We have hired a new person, and I got to show them around and all that sort of stuff. It was nifty.

It's a pretty good day. Considering leaving an hour early, so that I can go shopping before my guest gets here tonight. I am to cook dinner, and I have no food in the house! It is sad making.

How is everyone else's day going?

Started off blech by sleeping through the alarm this morning.
(Chatting till 3:00AM for the win!)

But it got immensly better when SD showed up at 1:00 ish for lunch ^_^

So far its really just being a day. Not too bad not too great.

Of course SD is now in the COV beta cause she pre-ordered it and tonight we actually get to play. (Last night was spent doing the beta Download) So looking forward to that. :D

Oh, and I've re-discoverd the joys of intelectual snobbery on a public forum. Just thought I'd throw that out there. >_>

Yay for lunch with SD!

And I toss envy at you about COV. I will not get involved in another MMORPG, but I can still envy!

Someday I will write my own MMORPG and then you will get inovlved oh yesssss.

*envies muchly at receiving the CoV download codes, and eagerly awaits her own, having also preordered*

Do read the forums. Or you could do what I did and spend about 15 hours trying to get the darn thing playable. *sighs* And then I get home from work and they take the servers down. >_< I'm never gonna get to play!

From: [identity profile] fadethecat.livejournal.com

Eeek. Sounds like I can't simply ignore the forums like I usually do. (Over on WoW, I have a friend who reads the forums, as he's far more willing than I to wade through the...cruft. So if I have a question that's likely to be answered there, I simply ask him.)

Sadly, this is a beta and they demand feedback. You can't even download the beta until you've created an account and signed on.

So far, I've only lurked in the tech issues, server issues, and bugs forums. The rest seem very full of misc whining.

From: [identity profile] fadethecat.livejournal.com

Oh, fair enough, that. The last MMORPG beta I was in I sent email to the appropriate address when I hit a bug and considered that my dutiful feedback, but I can deal with the forums if I must.

My day is the poing! Mostly due to coffee this morning, and certainly not because I've had enough sleep. Also, my parents are flying in tonight, which puts me in all sorts of happy-fret, because they get to meet the SO for the first time tomorrow.

(So long as no one talks about politics, we will be fiiiiine. Okay, politics or sex. Just. Fine.)

*grins* I'm also looking forward muchly to the rest of that Roz-and-Malcolm conversation. Poor Malakim can't catch a break in Columbia, of late. Demons keep flinging themselves at 'em for help.

From: [identity profile] pyrephox.livejournal.com

I...may be a little slow with that. It's been a bit busy here at work, and when I get home, I have to run off to get groceries, start to cook, and have friend over for dinner. :) But I'll try to pick it up as soon as possible.

From: [identity profile] fadethecat.livejournal.com

No pressure intended; I simply poing in eventual anticipation. (And caffeine. Can't forget the caffeine.)

The corpses of the people who piss me off are not piled around me in a cold, comforting womb, their stale blood flowing down in a puddle to play slip-n-slide in.

Therefore, my day is not going as well.

From: [identity profile] amethystjade.livejournal.com

It's all right. I'm a little frustrated with the Y, and frustrated with the temp agency. But mostly all right.

Glad yours is going well!

From: [identity profile] pyrephox.livejournal.com

Why frustrated with the Y? I assume the frustration with the agency is over lack of workness?

From: [identity profile] amethystjade.livejournal.com

Because the people at the Y are friendly, but stupid. I was told when I signed up that I could get someone to show me the ropes the first time through. So I went today in the middle of the day when I figured it'd be slow, and asked for my orientation. First they thought I meant a tour. When I finally got through their heads (I had to talk to multiple people) what I wanted, they explained that I had to get an appointment. And maybe they'd have been able to accomodate me, but they were mostly all in a meeting.

I said I'd go ahead and guess for now. But the problem is, you really can't do anything without the supersecret system login. So I rode the exercise bike for a bit at least, and I made the stupid appointment then for 5 today.

From: [identity profile] pyrephox.livejournal.com

Bleh. :( They sound terribly disorganized. *hugs* But good luck with the appointment.

From: [identity profile] amethystjade.livejournal.com

They seem to be. I've had a number of "duhhh" conversations with these folks already, and I've only been in this place three times.

Thanks! I hope that once I'm oriented, I won't have to deal with the people much.

From: [identity profile] amethystjade.livejournal.com

And yes, frustration with the agency is over my hypothetical assignment.
