This is where my dad lives.

Actually, it directly affects us, since the 'no new roads' restriction means that where they're going to put the new houses goes directly by my dad's house. Currently, there's a one-lane dirt road there. Even paved, that's not a lot of room, and our driveway turns directly into it. The idea of 100 cars going down that road every day is...well, it is to laugh. I know my dad's pretty irritated about the expansion.

100? Surely you underestimate. I assume we're talking standard middle class cookiecutter homes here, and if so, standard suburbia needs its two car garages. Mom and Dad probably both work and drive, and teenage Johnny might too.

You're probably looking at more like 160 more cars down that road!

I underestimated deliberately, I'll admit. It's entirely likely that we're looking at 2 to 3 cars per family (that's the average in our actual neighborhood), since there's no public transportation or work/school within walking distance.
