Things that I have been a-thinkin' off.
This is just something I've been thinking of for a while...I had an NPC at one time who once served Divine Death, and still held an attunement and some of the attitudes. So it's Dissonance conditions, Choir Attunements, and random thoughts.
Dissonance: It is dissonant for the Servitors of Divine Death to desecrate the body of a human, or tolerate its desecration. Undead count as the foulest descecration possible, and an Angel of Death must make every effort to destroy those that they run across. Having an Undead escape is not dissonant, but letting one walk free for any reason /is/. Additionally, Angels of Death will not leave any human to die alone, even those that are their enemies.
Choir Attunements:
Seraphim (Restricted)- The Most Holy of Death's Angels may look at a corpse, and with a successful Resonance roll, determine the cause of death, with the amount of detail depending on the CD. A CD 1 will only give general cause (heart failure, blunt trauma to the head, etc.), while a CD 6 will give all information relavant to the death (subject was poisoned with seven grams of a drug of Celestial origin, introduced via the steak they had last night), but should always be restricted to things that could possibly be discovered through a Heavenly autopsy (in other words, you never get /who/, only /how/).
Cherubim (Restricted)- Cherubim of Death are the guardians of tombs and the memories of the dead. When attuned to a tomb, they may use their resonance to track any item taken unlawfully from that place, for the purposes of returning it to its rightful home. They take no dissonance if the item is destroyed, however. The attunement automatically ends when the item is replaced.
Ofanim- Ofanim of Death can speed up the process of decomposition in corpses. They may automatically age a corpse a number of years equal to their Corporeal Forces times the Essence spent. This ability does not work on Undead...the soul has to have been released from the body.
Elohim- Elohim of Death can, by touching the eyes of a corpse and making a successful Perception roll, see the last few seconds of that corpse's life, at about five seconds per CD. They /only/ see what the corpse was able to see, and no sound is included.
Malakim (Restricted)- A Virtue of Death has a chance to detect Undead on a successful resonance roll. If the CD of the resonance roll is higher than the number of Corporeal Forces of the target, the Malakite will know if they're looking at an Undead or not, but not what variety.
Kyriotates (Restricted)- Kyriotates of Death do not take dissonance for leaving Undead hosts in worse positions than when they possessed them, provided that their purpose for possession was to seek the Undead's destruction.
Kyriotates (Revised) (Restricted)- Death's Hives do not evict the soul of the host when they take possession, instead pushing it into a comatose slumber. This applies to humans, Celestials, /or/ Undead. They also take no dissonance for leaving an Undead in a worst condition than they found it, provided that they took possession for the primary purpose of destroying the creature.
Mercurians- Mercurians of Death are charged with comforting the dying. For one Essence, they can instill a feeling of peace in a subject who is facing impending death, while taking chronic pain down to bearable levels (it is not removed, but muted). This feeling will persist for hours equal to the Angel's total Forces.
Rites
- Hold vigil while someone sits shiva.
- Identify and properly mark a forgotten grave.
- Stand guard over a tomb from dusk until dawn.

This one isn't at all like my Elohite AA of Transendence, who has the possibly worst job of the lot. All it can do is to be there and watch, whenever a state-change happens. It isn't allowed to interfere. That was pretty darn hard during the Fall... :P Cathedral situated next to/around Jacob's Ladder.

Ohhhhh, I like that idea. It's a lovely word...is the write-up of it up anywhere? *poings hopefully*

-Well, no. Not as such. I've a file with vague ideas in, in Norwegian. And it's not anywhere near my web-catalogue. :P

- Alas! If you get it written up, I'd like to see it. :) Sounds like Khalid and that Elo would get along...strangely. Or maybe Khalid needs to take lessons from Transcendence, now that he's back in Heaven.
