Haiku from a walk.

Morning in the park
spiders weave traps on the paths
but catch only me

That haiku reminds me of going to the bus as a child. Down our long and tree-lined driveway early in the morning.

Spiders are very ambitious creatures!

I also used to travel down a long and tree-lined walkway, but my haiku was slightly different:

On a long walk home
the geese gather by the path;
I pray they won't bite.

Perhaps the constant traffic to the bus stop kept the spiders at bay... if only it would have done as much for the hoardes of malevolent geese!

Geese are EEEEEVIL. I've tangled with those things before, and I'd rather face an angry dog!

When I worked at an office with a pond, the geese were angry and aggressive, and sometimes wouldn't let me in my car to go home.

Nice haiku. It reminds me of a Far Side cartoon. Sadly I couldn't find an image of it online.

I believe I have a vague memory of the one you're referencing. A spider web with kids caught in it?

Actually two spiders at the bottom of a slide with a web made across it. One is saying, "If we pull this off we'll eat like kings." Or something similar.

Ah! Yes, now I remember that one. Hee.
