I think I'm coming down with a cold, and my subconscious decided to spend the night kicking me in the teeth with nightmares. I tell you, /no one/ can tear you apart like yourself, when you're motivated enough.

Also, I may have lost my voice recorder. This would be...bad. I'll check my pants' pockets when I get home. If it's not in there, though, I'll have to start a load of laundry, then go out and buy a new one. Guh.

EDIT: Yep, I /did/ lose it, and someone just returned it. SUCH A NICE PERSON.

...and Enchanting was way, way too expensive a profession. I moved to alchemy instead. Have herbalism already, so it's not a bad fit. I'd love to be able to figure out where I'm supposed to learn how to fish, though. I can find fishing vendors, and fishing suppliers, but no fishing trainers. How unfair is that?

....Aiee you got the WoW big as well? :) what server? (also guards should tell you where to find fishing trainers)

From: [identity profile] pyrephox.livejournal.com

...oh, you can talk to them? If it didn't have a glowing gold symbol over its head, I've been largely ignoring it.

Um, server. It's...got a name. *headscratches* It's a new RP server. Largely empty, which is the way I like it. Something Raiders, I think. I'm a Night Elf Druid, hanging around Darnassus at the moment, trying to scrape together enough money to reoutfit myself in better leather before following my quests off the world-tree.

D'oh, come to Cenarion Circle*mystic hand waves*

Yeah most of the guards can send you to trainers, if you mouse over them and you see a little talking bubble you can talk to the NPC, although a lot have nothing to say guards give you directions.

I have quests from there! I think I'm neutral with them.

And thanks for the tip!

From: [identity profile] usekh.livejournal.com

Oh it's a server name as well :) where all my high level chars are.

No worries, happy to help, I have been playing a looooong time :P

From: [identity profile] pyrephox.livejournal.com

Also, why the hell with the game not turn you around if you're attacking something? I mean, c'mon. I've got my staff out, I'm ready to kick ass, it should not be that hard to have my character automatically turn to face the critter running around me.

From: [identity profile] usekh.livejournal.com

Ah they did that to make botting a lot harder I beleive. Or at least that is their excuse

From: [identity profile] pyrephox.livejournal.com

I noticed that, with applying bandages. And at least the spell sightline is pretty forgiving, even if the melee isn't.

Also, I like druids! They are fun and shiny, and I was able to solo the one Elite quest I've run across so far. Actually, I could solo everything but the Gathering the Relics quest with the apemen type things. There were just too many of them, in those narrow little corridors. But the other players are really friendly on the new server, and a lot of them are really new to the game, like me, so that's been a big help. :D

Oh, the furbies! They're more bears than apes. You've had an Elite quest?

Huh. My druid was much less effective than my hunter, overall...

A low level one outside Dolamar (sp?). Gnarl the Something. Some sort of treething. He was tough, but Entangling Vines (?), That Flashy Continuing Damage Spell, and Wrath paired together make for lots of happy death and destruction, with a little bit of Healing Touch and bandages for when the pain comes.

Oh, him! Moonfire and Root, good combo. Sounds like you'll be interested in getting the Restoration DOT (Damage Over Time aka continuing damage) from the talent tree. I did, despite being otherwise a Balance Druid, and it's made root-rot actually quite feasible -- if a bit mana-intensive.

Didn't Gnarlroot or whatever have a buddy to mess with, too?

From: [identity profile] pyrephox.livejournal.com

Another thing Root is really, really good at, I'm finding, is luring out 'buddies' one at a time, since it doesn't seem to turn anyone violent except the victim, if you stay at the far edge of its range. Whack the minion, get it to chase you, take it out, come back for the boss. It helps that the fight takes place largely out in the open...Garlroot's cave is pretty shallow.

So root the buddy, and the boss won't aggro? And then when root wears off, it comes out?

This is a tactic I have not tried yet...

Well, harder to tell if it works for me, now, since Marie's all 60 and stuff, but I'm sure I could find something.

Mouseover the NPCs. If you get a speechbubble, you can talk.

If you get on Dragonblight, Marie (Alliance) or Chaundra (Horde) will be happy to get you sorted out with stuff. O:>

Muwahaha! Another has fallen victim to the World of Warcrack!

Druids are a good choice. I miss playing mine. I have characters on quite a few Realms if you ever change. I've some on Dragonblight with Arcangelbeth and then some on Runetotem, Doomhammer, and the lates is Spinebreaker (PVP). Not too thrilled about the last one but my brother plays there so *shrug*.

A note for fishing, when you start out buy one of those fishing baubles that adds +10 or something to your fishing skill. It's the only way to learn how to fish without getting frustrated by all your fish getting away. By the time it wears off you should have raised the skill enough. Second hint for fishing, it is a great way to level up your cooking skill.

And lastly if you ever hop on Saminga I'm sure you'll find more than enough people willing to give hints or help. Have fun. :-)

Omg, you should have rolled on Khadgar....that's where Tangplayer and I are. :) Maybe we'll find time to drag away from our mains and roll over there so you have someone to play with...

I forgot to mention my charaters' names!

Vermithrax - 60 moonkin
Verdent - 60 feral
Verstar - 26 resto

From: [identity profile] the-fool76.livejournal.com

First off, come to the Khadgar server. SD and I live there as well as a good number of other worthy nutcases. (Just roll an alt to come chat if nothing else ^_^ )

Second, any and all druid advice you need come to me for I am a GOD unto druids.

I've got two 60 druids, one moonkin one feral, working on a third that is resto. Yes, I am sick and there is something wrong with me. XD

For free fishing, go down and talk to the dwarf below the hippogryph landing platform in Darkshore. He has a quest, then after you accept it you can talk to him again and he will both give you fishing for free and has some fishing supplies for sale.

Enchanting is ok if you wait till about lvl 30 to really start working on it. Basically it picks up once you are able to run the low lvl dungions (Van Clief alliance) on your own for greens and blues. The biggest problem with enchanting though is that you have to be online to sell your stuff. So actually making money at it requires you to sit in the city and hawk your enchants.

Lets see for money, best thing to do is sell everything at the AH that isn't grey that you arn't using. As an herbalist, just pick everything you see and AH any extra stacks you get. Herbs sell quite well.

Anyway, enough nattering from me. Back to farming silk so I can help SD up her first aid.
