Last day of work!
At least, for two weeks. Which makes me rather happy, all things considered. I am eating an orange for lunch. Just an orange, for I am fat, and need to become less so. Also, getting more Vitamin C probably wouldn't kill me. Also, i feel bad for I am uncreative. I would like to be more creative, but these days, when I come home, I'm just without energy.

No, I'm not 'starving myself'. I'm eating better, and I'm eating an orange at work to cut off the habitual desire to go out and get fatty food.

Boy, does that sound familiar. Add a craving for red wine and you've got my food issues nailed. The creativity issues sound familiar too, but I blame that on lack of sleep. A tired Derek is a fairly stupid Derek.

Have a great Hallowe'en! I think I'll be carving my pumpkin tonight. I'm hoping that tomorrow night is going to be warm enough to sit out. We're in a new neighbourhood so I have no idea if I'll have 5 kids, or 500. My plan is to sit at the front door with a couple of oil lamps and a good book, so no matter what happens the evening will be well spent. (Look! There's a large pile of candy beside me too. Whatever shall I do with it?)

Congratulations on your fresh attention to what and when you're eating! I've been trying to improve my snack habits by keeping "healthier" snacks at home, after having lots of energy drops when I did too much of the carb-and-protein thing. I do find it's easier out here, where you can find anything in the world at the corner store. But I've discovered that if I'm hungry, I will be equally satisfied by chocolate, cookies, Doritos, hummus with crackers, spinach dip with pita chips, peanuts, or dried fruit/fresh berries... which one I eat is really just a question of what's in the fridge/cupboard.
Now when I get particular cravings (like for wings, or chocolate) I still indulge them, but this way if I'm just feeling munchy... I have baby carrots or strawberries around for that.
