...to get me going is a couple of good days, and the prospect of seeing friends again. Yup. In the last hour, after getting a phone call from a way, way out of town friend that he and his wife were in town, and wanted to get together for games and fun, I have gotten rid of my broken monitor, hauled the Vaputech computer up to the attic, and fixed the drives on it. Yup, the factory had stuck the prongs for the DVD drives in the *wrong* *hole*. It's Vaputech, what can I say?

However, it has a DVD drive, and a CD/DVD-RW drive (both of which now work) and an almost completely clean 120 GB hard drive, which makes up for a heck of a lot. Almost completely clean, because it looks like the factory never got around to installing, ohhhhhh sound drivers, among other things.

And I can't figure out how to link my old hard drive to it, either. The holes are in the right places, but the prongs that come with this case are the wrong size! Woe is me. I'll have to beg for help. There's probably an adapter of some sort out there that I can buy, beg, borrow, or trick out of someone. I don't need my old, 60 GB HD in there on a permanent basis, really, although it would be nice. But I do need the stuff off of it.

And I need to get the network cable working so that there's RoadRunnery goodness for all the household. Or at least for me and Dad. And then I can go back up to my nice, delightfully cold attic room. I'm like a hibernating bear, only with less fur and an internet addiction.

Since the campus is, oops, /closed/ today, I'll go down Monday to drop off the forms for the happy letters of recommendation. Then I need to call the financial aid people, and tell them to hold off increasing my debt for a couple of months. Then I need to see if I'm accepted. Then I need to get more debt! Yay! Debt is fun! It's like anti-matter in the financial sphere! If ever debt and money touch, there's a huge explosion, and you're left with burnt, empty hands, feeling sort of silly.

In other news, I really, really need to clean my room. *shifts eyes*
