I should write more often. I have been neglecting my journal lately.

Really, though, not a lot has been happening. More interviews, no jobs. My days are spent pretty much in idleness, and I've lost the knack of dealing with that, especially since most of my computer games are all packed up, and I no longer have my own house to roam around. I really, REALLY miss being on my own, and I hope that I get an offer --any offer-- soon, so that I can cast about for apartments.

Also, I need to do more writing. I was going back through early entries, doing a little updating to my memories, and I /miss/ writing. Some of it was actually okay.

You have a great writing voice - which comes with being an eloquent storyteller.

Waiting for interviews and offers is icksy! Now's a great time to do all the things you'll regret not having done when you do get that job, and don't have free time anymore, though. Got anything you've always wanted to take up, or something you thought you'd do last year, but didn't get to it?

I know lots of people in education who didn't get a good offer until close to the start of the school year (others retiring, or giving notice late), so hang in there. Enjoy your free time in the meantime!

I'm afraid to really take up anything, because I'm trying to conserve what funds I have left until I have more coming in. :) Because of where my Dad's house is, even /free/ stuff is a good twenty minute drive out, and gas prices are kinda scary right now. :P

I still have the Friday game, which is good. Mostly it's just...I'm not used to not having Stuff To Accomplish. It's been...god...two, three? years since I've had a summer /truly/ free of all requirements.

Yes, gas is definitely scary right now.

If it helps, it's normal to take a while to adjust to setting up your own Stuff after finishing school. Everyone goes through it (also some new parents), where Free Time becomes an odd and scary thing until they remember what to do with it.

In the meantime, writing's as good a goal as any!

Yeaaah. :D

How are things going with you, by the way? We still miss you, but it sounds like the move is really working out!

I am doing well. Work was short-staffed for about a month and a half, but we finally got the opening filled, so that's smoothing out (and the kids are finally out of school, which quiets down the babysitting aspect a lot). Career-wise, this was a very good move - I'm really liking it.

I miss you too, though. They've always said that every region has its own flavor of people, and I haven't quite gotten the hang of Californians. There are a lot of good things, but there are some cultural oddities, too. It's easy to be happy (and entertained) out here, at least!

In everything else, I'm still working on cultivating hobbies of my own. Worked on juggling for a couple of weeks, but I'm a very slow learner in the muscle memory department.... I just got the house cleaned out again, so I'm trying to get back into sewing and kitchen stuff as well.

I should blog more, too! Have been having trouble finding the right words to write lately. Will try to work on that more.

Yay! More blogging is good. :D And juggling sounds like fun...although I bet it's frustrating just learning.
