Also, as not-really-a-spoiler-but-maybe-a-hint-of-things-to-come: the main character is an artist who does, I quote, "Movie posters, that sort of thing," and at the beginning, he is working on a painting of a lean, leather-clad man with two guns, with a tower in the background and a red, red rose curling to the side.
May mean nothing.

And yeah, bleak's a good word. Wasn't that crazy about the bleakitude towards the end, but the critters were right out of Lovecraft.

On a somewhat related note, do you by any chance have the HoaS logs sitting around somewhere? I'd be happy to stuff 'em together into one giant log and put 'em up as HTML/text/PDF/whatever for you; they're such a marvelous reference for a set-length campaign.
