You ever had that feeling? The one where you're at a party, and you don't really know anyone there, and everyone seems to be having fun and fitting in around you, but you don't quite know what's going on? When you feel like there must have been some sort of introductory course for the world that you slept through, and now you're just trying to figure out what the heck is going on?

Lately, I feel like that a lot. Like somewhere, somehow, I got left behind in the socialization biz, and can't quite think of the right things to say or do. Everything that comes to mind sounds stupid or insincere, even when it's heartfelt, and I can't help but think I'm on the outside of...something. Something that most other people seem to have figured out, but constantly eludes me.

Maybe it's just the freaky weather.

Don't sweat it. Life can perfectly comfortable hanging around on the outskirts of other people's social groups, and it's a lot less burdensome when one doesn't have the responsibility of being the social glue that holds a crowd together.

But then, I'm a flaming introvert.

*hugs* I feel precisely the same. :( My sympathies.
