I am feeling really, really good, for no real reason. Just aimlessly happy. Well, that's not true. I got to talk about game stuff with the other people involved, and since we hadn't done any of that on more than a one-on-one basis for a while, it was nice. Grounding-like. So that's one source of the happy.

Also, I have a sore throat. That's not a source of happiness, but I'm happy despite that. And it's icing outside. Also not a source of happiness, but hey.

Mmmm. Note to self. Work on NPCs.

In Nomine. It's a Steve Jackson game, set in the modern day (by default). The idea is Angels and Demons waging a secret war on earth, with a select few human allies, for human souls and the ultimate salvation or destruction of the Universe. If you haven't had the opportunity to play it, before, I can heartily recommend it. It's a GM-intensive game, but easy to learn and teach, and fun to play. It's also quite customizable as to what kind of game you want to have, /and/ easily playable with just the Core Book.

It's also the game system that I'm the most 'into' right about now. Before that it was Unknown Armies. :D

Ah, yes, I'm very familliar with In Nomine. The co-author of my last book (due out on shelves in April/May, get ready now) was Genevive Cogman, who did one of the best books for the line, in my opinion.

Not exactly my preference in settings, I fear; I think the original French version is much more biting satire and better designed, but that's me. When I want to do the deity-thing, I reach for Nobilis. Again, just my thing.

I like modern fantasy, and not so much the satirical games...In Nomine has its flaws, but works remarkably well for my preferred style of gaming/GMing. I have heard very good things about the French version, though. :) And Nobilis, for that matter, although I've not had the opportunity to look through any of the books. It's yet another system on my 'One Day' list, along with actually getting around to /running/ a Little Fears game, instead of just staring wistfully at the main book.

Mmmm, Little Fears is unbelievably nice. I'm currently slowly consuming Cthulhu Dark Ages, and enjoying the BRP flashbacks its engendering.
