I'm reinstalling Baldur's Gate 2, and Throne of Bhaal with it. While not quite as entrancing as, say, Planescape: Torment, it's still a good, solid game, with a lot of interesting ideas. And some of the player-created mods out there are truly kickass. I'm just not entirely certain which ones I want to play.

There's a Redemption mod that looks interesting, both for the main bad being, and someone else. And lots, lots, lots of new NPCs with dialogue and romance options. Admittedly, I'm a sucker for nifty romances...and let's face it, being the powerful child of a god with a darkness in your soul which you get to exploit as much as you like...that's /entertainment/, folks. :P

Hmmm. Mods?

Perhaps I need to re-install BG, run a PC or two through it and TOSC, and get on to BG2, etc.

Could you point me in the direction of the mods? Do they need to be played in place of BG2/ToB?

(Of course, I need to get ToB, too...)

Ze mods are here (http://www.sorcerers.net/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=10&t=002241), at the Sorcerer's Place. There are a few 'total conversion' mods which will completely change the game, but I haven't played any of them. The majority of the ones I use are: The Unfinished Business mod (can be used without ToB, restores and finishes quests/items/NPCs that the developers didn't have time to wrap up, and thus cut. The Solufein mod makes Solufein a joinable NPC character, complete with romance options and his own side quests. The Kelsey mod creates an entirely new Sorcerer NPC with a hell of a lot of dialogue (even spoken!), a romance option, and his own side quests. The NPC 'Flirt Packs' and 'Banter Packs' which add a significant amount of new conversations between NPCs, as well as allowing you to initiate romantic, flirty dialogue with the NPC romance of your choice. I also have the Baldurdash Fix Pack (fixes a variety of little bugs and irritations which the patch doesn't touch), the Ease-of-Use mod (you may not want this one; it's minor cheats to allow you to stack potions and ammunitions to unlimited amounts), the Item Upgrade mod (tweaks a couple of items and adds a few more).

I also have Ascension and Redemption, but those require Throne of Bhaal. If you're a tactician, you may also want the Tactics mod, which makes quite a few of the battles in the game /significantly/ more difficult, mostly by making the enemies smarter, but occassionally by beefing them up, as well.
