I feel antsy. Restless. I want to have a real-life conversation with someone I'm not related to. I want to write, too, but it's hard to concentrate or get enthused about anything. Even the stuff I'm involved in sometimes ends up feeling more like work than play, sometimes. Possibly because I don't really feel like I'm accomplishing anything, these days. In life or on the MUSH, which is my main hobby with my car (and now my father's car) in the shop. For a wonder, the problems with my life are more easily solved than the ones with my hobby. If I could just get a ride, again, I'd have the freedom to do the things I need to do. As it is, the time creeps every closer when I'm supposed to go back to school, and if I don't have a car, I'm going to be...kinda screwed, really.

In other news, I re-read 'The Gunslinger'. I knew there was a reason I hadn't re-read it since the first time. I'd forgotten how unimpressive it was, compared to the rest of the series. It really feels like it's written by a much younger writer, one who hasn't quite settled into his style, yet, much less gotten a good eye on the characters and setting. It's a useful read for the purposes of getting the events which lead up to 'The Drawing of the Three', but quite frankly, it can be skipped. The relevant parts are referenced elsewhere in the series, and in a much more proficient style. On the other hand, it's the shortest book of the series, and quite possibly worth slogging through. It's not a good book to judge the rest by, however.
Following the 'In Nomine Ludi' blog-game has reminded me of an idea I had, and was thinking about writing up and posting to Fanfiction.net a while back. It has occurred to me that the blog format would be the /perfect/ medium to exploit the idea to its fullest, although I'd really want/need a web-cam or digital camera, and a few co-conspiritors to do it justice. Something to think about, at least.
