It's too early.

I am not happy about the days with early morning office meetings. And I have a final today. Yay, final. It shouldn't be too difficult, really. :) And I should start on that whole final paper thing. Don't wanna. But will, lest I fail. Failure would be bad, and it would make me all frowny. No one wants a frowny Amber.

On the bright side, a friend just loaned me the first Firefly DVD. I am prepared to see what all the fuss is about. Yay fuss!
With my new haul, I'm starting to seriously think about an online CoC game, set in Victorian London. I am helped in this endeavor by the truly magnificent array of stuff you can find on the Internet. Including maps of Victorian London! Yay maps! I've narrowed it down to what neighborhood I think I'll be setting it in. Around the intersection of Shoreditch Rd. and Bethel Green Rd. According to the poverty map I've found, there were well-to-do middle class areas surrounding a hive of scum and villany (okay, 'lowest class, vicious, criminal') which should be interesting to play in. The relevant map is here if you're interested. I will set the game a little farther ahead than this particular map,

And yes, I am looking for players. I believe one slot is already taken, if the person still wants it, but other than that, I'll need...one to two more players.

Keep in mind, this will be Call of Cthulhu. The question is not if your character will be hurt, but how badly. Not if your character will die, but when. Also, we'll be playing Chaosium CoC, /not/ D20. It's fairly easy to explain and an easy system to learn and play, but it'd be a good idea, if you're interested, to download Byakhee as it's a kickass character generator and sheet tracker. And it has Victorian-era character sheets with the appropriate skills, etc.

As to what the campaign will specifically be...that'll depend in part on the characters. I will say that it'll be mystery/horror in genre, as befits the game, and probably there will be one adventure, and then we'll decide if we want to go on from there.

Each player will be asked to make two characters at chargen: their first PC, and then the backup for when the first one is incapacitated.

Victorian England resource here.

EDIT: Three players have spoken up, and that's enough for the moment. Yay!
This is for the three of my players to chat about character concepts with me and with each other. My requirements:

1. Reasonably in-period. The game will be set in 1889, in London, in the previously mentioned neighborhood. Nearby things of note are the Imperial Gas Works, two churches, the Great Eastern Station for the rails, and a workhouse in the poor area of the neighborhood. It can also be assumed that there's a local alehouse, a nearby brothel of some dubious sort, a gaming hall, and various shops and markets.

2. Connected characters. I'd like, if possible, for you three to come up with characters that know and at least tolerate each other, and can work together. If you can't work it out, I can work with that, but some familiarity at the first will probably work in your favor.

Other than that, have fun. Play around with concepts...I'll give whatever feedback you want, and then we'll get together on Saminga for rules explanation and campaign talk sometime in the next few days.
